Frequently Asked Questions ...
Where women deacons in St Paul's time, or has wrong, then get it?
Of course, where women deacons in St. Paul's time. In Rom16: 1 It recommends the diaconess Phoebe in the community, in 1 Timothy 3:1-13 Paul discusses what attributes are needed at the various ministries, as deacons of bishops, deacons included. He says that in Christ there is no Jew or Gentile nor slave nor free no women or men, etc. Why then, later, has the tradition of women drop out of ministry? Was it because, as the Jewish and Greco-Roman culture, the status of women considered at the time, or was it something negative in the Gospel or Jesus; s attitude toward them? Or was it appropriate, the men in these times? Where there are no women in any of these major councils? In the end, what is the highest standard, the Gospel or the tradition? What are reserved by these changes? I feel that this is not the kind of problem by simply reading the Catechism, but by reading in the Gospel with fresh eyes, maybe you think can be solved dont?
Answer:
Yes, there were Deaconesses, but there were no women in the position of the elders (bishops). Their basic task was to educate the young and also to the women who were converted . Instruct Also took care of the "widows and orphans" and were an integral part of the early church. There are at least two specific examples of early Women, the priests and (elders), one as the other comments above, in Ireland, where St. Brigit was not only a priest but was ordained a bishop by a the disciple of St. Patrick. In the 7th Century in Rome to actually send stern letter to the Church in Ireland said that they stop ordaining women as priests. The other example is in Constantinople at the time of Constantine. There was a significant effort to ensure that it was the message of Christianity and the Empire of Constantinople, to all people to spread, women and priests were very much a part of this effort, again, teaching women in the church and also serves the mass or liturgy for women and children in the Community.
