Spraying with water-based paints at home?
I wonder if anyone has any tips for painting Cars with VOC water base coat at home in the garage? I have worked as a car painter almost 20yrs and with the arrival of Waterbase latley and the demise of the solvent base coat, my only choice for homers is the basis of water use. At work, in the oven, coat each blink off on lap five minutes and needs a constant flow of air around it (I use a desktop fan on a stand for this) to dry quickly. A paint rep said it (the fans) like to hang out your clothes to dry Breezzer on a warm day with no, and hang it on a warm day with a Breezzer, the latter being the dry faster. Any tips for the home? My main concern is dirt in My base coat and it does very well de-nib. Solvent Base was really better to do for work, but that day was with Homers and gone Unfortunatley.

I think if you kept on painting in your garage, a small hand Infared lamp will help, we use one at a level that I have made, and for air movement I use a hand held blower with a diffuser, is designed to dry WB.i use this if I am doing a bumper corner or a small Shock, fire, instead of the cabin for a small job.As for your concern about dirt in your base coat, I use Mirka abralon spring pads from the base coat 600 to work well 1000grade (dry). I guess prevention is better than cure, I just want to make sure that your garage is kept spotless before painting and with some of Poly Plastic Down.you dust are a courageous man than me, I would not want to paint in my garage to make especially with 2k lacquers.Good Luck
