Kitchen cabinets?
Need help. Just got a house and the previous owner painted the kitchen cabinets black. The drawers and doors are a beige color painted. How can I paint over the black? (See also the back of a bedroom door also painted black!) Can I sand down the cabinets and get all the paint, or should I just try to cover it. They painted the walls a sage green in the kitchen and put up a common border with grapes on them. : (I want to be for everyone, either white or natural wood to the back. Any suggestions?
Answer:
Black hu? Well you can paint over it, I suggest a good interior oil primer after sanding the exisisting black paint, 2 coats Primer would be best.As go back as far as to natural wood that require stripping of paints and varnishes were applied previously. A very big task, and who knows what type of wood you'd have if u get all the materials off.Remember a semi-paint, what you'd want to finish, it shows every defect in it. so take the time to prep, sand, before Appling primer and finish.
